Laziness

I realized something that’s probably really obvious the other day. The difference between writers and people who talk about aspiring to write? People who talk about aspiring to write let their laziness get in the way of actually writing.

At least, that’s my problem.

Well, there’s laziness, and then there’s a busy life filled with other things that must be done, toddlers who get up at 5:30 a.m., fatigue, and a genuine need to give your body and mind a break periodically.

Anything there sound familiar? :-) Women with busy families and other aspirations are often reminded that there are seasons of life, each one with its own focus and opportunities and priorities. You are in a busy family- and career-building season. And preparing to move, as well. Lazy, you ain’t!

    Amen, Sister Hermit!

I agree with the Her. Edit. I couldn’t be prouder of you if you were my own son…you sure ain’t lazy and you do care for your family the way a man should. This is the time of your life that will give depth to your writing. Rejoice with the wife of your youth, enjoy your day’s work under the sun, and kiss that toddler for me.

But if you get to the place where you are just butt lazy – you could read War of Art – but like Matt Cook said – maybe give the 3rd section a pass. :o )
